Relaxed Seating Position
The new handlebar is straighter and moves the hand position up and in. This relaxed position makes the bike easier to ride and control. The footpegs are positioned close to the bike’s centreline for a slim riding position conducive to both on and off road riding. Narrow tank design gives riders maximum comfort and control without sacrificing capacity.
Performance Frame and Rear Suspension
Lightweight, high-tensile steel for amazing rigidity. No downtubes allow for lower engine placement and lower center of gravity as well as ample ground clearance. Lightweight, aluminum D-section swingarm is highly rigid and reduces unsprung weight. KX™ racing-type chain adjusters allow precise adjustment. Long rear wheel travel for straight-line stability, great handling and a low seat height. Progressive linkage rate provides a smooth ride and excellent bottoming resistance. The gas-charged remote-reservoir shock features 18-way adjustable compression and rebound damping.
All digital instrument console gives at a glance information featuring a digital bar graph tachometer, digital speedometer, clock, and dual trip meters.
Wheels and Brakes
Front and rear petal disc brakes offer impressive stopping performance. A twin piston calliper grips a 250 mm disc up front. At the rear, a single piston calliper operates a large 240 mm disc.
Fat, 4mm spokes for greater off-road durability. Light weight alloy rims for a lower weight. Tyres with small tread blocks for longer tyre life and increased grip on the sealed roads.
The compact 249cm3, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine features a four-valve, dual overhead cam head atop an electrofusion coated aluminium cylinder producing impressive power and torque delivering smooth, tractable acceleration.
The KLX250S’s box and tubular section high tensile steel perimeter frame creates a slim, lightweight package. The 26.5° caster angle and short wheelbase contribute to quick handling, while the high rigidity of the frame ensures straight line stability.
Easy Electric Starting
Enjoy easy, trouble-free starting thanks to a reliable, electric starter facilitated by Kawasaki Automatic Compression Release (KACR), which automatically opens an exhaust valve to lower compression and enable easy cranking.
Aggressive headlight and front fender design. Two-piece radiator shrouds styled like the KX motocross line. Rear fender is a two-piece unit featuring a sharp tail light design that offers great visibility and further contributes to the KLX250S’ aggressive styling
KLX-spec handlebar for a more relaxed position and effortless control. Footpegs are positioned close to the bike’s centerline for rider control. KLX-spec seat shape and foam make it easier to change seating position.
43mm inverted cartridge fork offers excellent rigidity and consistent damping performance. Long front wheel travel means straight-line stability, great handling and a low seat height. 16-way compression damping adjustment allows tuning for differences in rider weight and terrain.
